Privacy policy.

What we collect

When you contact us. If you use our contact form or email us, we collect your name, your email address, and whatever you write in your message. The form also records a hidden timestamp, which we use only to filter out automated spam.

When you browse. We use Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel, both loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how people find and use the site and to measure our advertising — which pages get read, roughly what part of the world you're in, and what device and browser you're using. Both rely on cookies.

When you submit the contact form. The Meta pixel uses a feature called advanced matching. It takes the name and email address you typed, scrambles them into a code, and sends that code to Meta. Meta uses it to work out whether you have a Facebook or Instagram account, so we can tell whether our ads are reaching the right people. Meta doesn't receive your details in readable form, but the code can still be matched back to you, so we treat it as personal information.

Turning it off. You can block these cookies in your browser settings, use a tracking blocker, or browse privately — the site works either way. You can also change what Meta does with your information in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences.

Your light or dark theme preference is stored in your own browser. It never reaches us.

We don't collect anything about a property, a wishlist or an offer on this website. All of that happens in the app.

Why we collect it

To answer your question, to see which pages are useful and which aren't, to measure whether our advertising is working, and to keep the site running and free of spam.

Who else sees it

• Microsoft Azure hosts this website and delivers the emails our contact form sends us.
• Google provides the analytics and tag management.
• Meta Platforms measures our advertising, and receives the scrambled contact details described above.

We don't sell your personal information, and we never will. We don't pass it to data brokers, and we don't share your message with anyone outside our team.

Where it goes

All three providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States.

How long we keep it

We keep your message while we deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards, then delete it. Analytics and advertising data is kept under the retention settings on our Google and Meta accounts.

Getting a copy, or correcting it

Email hello@pickabuyer.com and ask. Once we've confirmed who you are, we'll send you a copy of what we hold or correct anything that's wrong. There's no charge, and we'll respond within 30 days.

If you think we've got it wrong

Email hello@pickabuyer.com with the details. We'll look into it and reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
